At 71: We remember w/ gratitude, renew w/ fervor

On 02 February 2012, the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines turns 71 years old! This marks CEAP's first ascent towards CEAP 75, a five-year vision seen as an opportunity for the association to establish its legacy and create a more profound connection between Catholic students and educators and CEAP's Mission.

Two significant events highlight the celebration. First and foremost is the issuance of a Pastoral Letter by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines celebrating Catholic education in the Philippines. The letter entitled "'Teach them to observe all that I have commanded you..' (Matthew 28:20)" was issued during the CBCP's 104th Bishops' Plenary Assembly on January 29.

The other significant event is the groundbreaking ceremony of the CEAP Headquarters in Quezon City on February 7. Bishop Honesto Ongtioco, D.D., Diocese of Cubao, will preside over the Eucharistic Celebration and blessing of the premises. Upon its completion on June 2012, the building will house the CEAP National Secretariat and the CEAP Retirement Offices. It is also envisioned as a meeting and training venue for the planned Superintendents' Academy.

Alongside these advances are the continued enhancement of existing programs for the schools' capability-building and preparations for the 2012 CEAP National Convention. CEAP is also strengthening its online presence and it invites everyone to join in on the conversations happening at Facebook.com/CatholicEdPH and Twitter.com: @CatholicEdPH
